AUB Socially Conscious Design Unit with Level 4 BA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Design

For the third consecutive year, we’re delighted to partner with Level 4 Interior Architecture students at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB). These talented students are embracing design with a powerful purpose—exploring how it can prevent and provide solutions for youth homelessness.

As part of the Socially Conscious Design Unit, students are tasked with designing a preventative hub aimed at addressing youth homelessness. Located in Poole town centre, the project challenges them to consider population dynamics, local activities, and demographics, alongside conducting in-depth research into the challenges, barriers, and concerns faced by homeless individuals.

This week, students received an inspiring briefing from Deano and Jordan, who shared insights into the inclusive considerations and real-world challenges of homelessness. The project not only pushes the boundaries of creative space-making but also encourages students to reflect on and address unconscious biases surrounding societal issues.

We’re excited to see how these future designers rise to the challenge and create innovative spaces with a profound social impact. This collaboration showcases the power of education and design to inspire meaningful change.

Stay tuned for updates on their incredible work!
