Healthwatch week ran from 09-12 November 2021 and saw over 600 staff and volunteers join together online from across England. The conference tackled key challenges such as Ensuring patient voice in health and social care and Tackling inequalities. The conference reflected on the massive role that COVID-19 has played in exposing structural racism and inequalities.

We must all come together to tackle inequalities. We can’t just leave it to one group to fight, we must all stand up and play our part. – Professor David Olusoga

Phil’s video was shown at the Healthwatch England conference and it’s such a powerful account of what our homeless patients face. This video highlights the difficulties of accessing health and social care services for people experiencing homelessness. Phil, from Dorset, was homeless for 18 years and he kindly shared his experiences to help raise awareness.
