Getting the right care and support at the right time: Joe’s Journey of Recovery

Joe’s life has transformed since his struggles with homelessness and addiction. Just a year ago, he was living on the streets, drinking heavily, and caught in a cycle of hospital admissions and withdrawal. Now, after rehab and the right support, he is housed in Portsmouth, working as a groundworker, and four months sober. Joe credits services like the HealthBus, Hope for Food, and St Mungo’s for helping him turn things around. He now attends AA meetings, aims to get his driving licence, and is working towards full-time employment—proof that with the right help, change is possible.
