HealthBus welcomes CEO of The Hospital Saturday Fund to Bournemouth
Following a recent grant application to The Hospital Saturday Fund, CEO, Paul Jackson was invited to Bournemouth to meet with the HealthBus team and carry out a grant assessment for the Trust. Many people, who are experiencing homelessness, with underlying health conditions are not accessing treatment until their condition becomes acute. The HealthBus team are helping individuals to maintain their condition and aiding their recovery. To aid the HealthBus clinical team on the mobile clinic and on outreach, additional specialist equipment is required to assess and treat patients.
Paul had the opportunity to spend a morning with the team as they shared the vision of the Trust amongst highlighting the severe need and challenges for those who are vulnerably housed or experiencing homelessness. Dr Maggie Kirk, shared her story and the history of the Trust being formed, whilst Kate Hibbitt gave further context to the local needs and recent achievements.
“It was an honour to welcome Paul to Bournemouth and to discover that he was passionate about our work and service. Being able to meet with key funders face-t0-face allows them to gain further context on the situations that charities face. Delighted that we are able to introduce him to the team, whilst having the time to visit the new mobile clinic. We both hope this is the start of a long partnership with The Hospital Saturday Fund!” – Kate Hibbitt, HeathBus Operations Director.
