Chief Pharmacist for The Gurkha Welfare Trust connects with HealthBus
Roshan Dahal, Head of Medical Systems and Chief Pharmacist for The Gurkha Welfare Trust continues on his epic mission of discovery across the South Coast of England, having spent time with the team at Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability and various GP practices. Today Lee Francis (Co-Founder, PatientSource) arranged to bring Roshan to visit the HealthBus.
Lee and Roshan were invited to participate in the morning surgery, with the HealthBus mobile clinic stationed on the grounds of St Swithun’s Church. The generous provision of workspace, along with kitchen and break-out facilities, allows the team to create a warm, welcoming environment while addressing significant healthcare gaps for some of society’s most vulnerable members. They both joined the morning briefing session, where the team reviewed the planned caseload for the day. Always prepared for ad-hoc visits, the team ensures that the mobile clinic, with its distinctive colour scheme and branding, serves as a beacon of light and care for those in need.
Operations Director Kate Hibbit guided Roshan through the configuration of PatientSource, a highly beneficial process as the team progressed through the ‘To-Be’ process mapping for GWT.
Executive Director Deano Pickering expressed admiration for the scale of GWT and its innovative fundraising approach. Plans are underway to introduce GWT’s Head of Fundraising, Adam Bentham, and discussions have begun about potential site visits to Nepal for an exchange of ideas and experiences. Both organisations have notable parallels in delivering remote care, and the possibility of future collaboration appears promising.
