BU Students Present their Ideas to support the HealthBus
Over the past 9-weeks, 12 second-year BA Hons Media students at BU have been working on a client brief project for the HealthBus Trust. The students have worked effortlessly to create suitable and relevant material that can be used to promote volunteering and donations to university students. The students were divided into two groups with the option of tackling the brief in various ways.
On 17 May 2023, both groups presented their media ideas and solutions to the HealthBus mentor Deano Pickering alongside their course lectures. Both groups presented their outcomes in an engaging and enthusiastic manner, whilst demonstrating they had conducted relevant research in order to meet the required brief.
“I was really proud of how the students faced the challenges before them. The topic of ‘people experiencing homelessness’ can be sensitive and emotionally difficult, yet the students were considerate and creative in how they communicated their messages. I was moved to see how they all battled with their own unconscious bias and perceived ideas of the causes of homelessness. Inspiring a new generation to get involved with local causes is a difficult brief, but one that allows for exploration and research.” Deano Pickering, Head of Fundraising & Marketing.
Huge thanks to all and the BU Media team for engaging us in this manner!
