Over the past 9-weeks, thirteen second year BA Hons Media students at BU have been working on a video project for the HealthBus Trust. The students have worked effortlessly to create suitable and relevant material that can be used to educate the public and key influencers about the obstacles people face when experiencing homelessness. The students were divided into two groups with different audiences to target.

On 18 May 2022, both groups presented their media ideas and solutions to their peers with HealthBus staff Kate Hibbitt and Deano Pickering present as judges. Both groups presented their outcomes in an engaging and enthusiastic manner, whilst demonstrating they had conducted relevant research in order to meet the required brief.

“The work created by both groups was outstanding! I was so impressed with their ideas, delivery and professionalism towards the brief. Not only did they present original ideas, use the brand and communicate effectively, but they also captured our value that everyone should have access to safe and non-judgmental healthcare. I am confident that we will be using their work in our campaigns later in the year!”  Kate Hibbitt, Operational Director.

“I was really proud of how the students faced the challenges before them. The topic of ‘people experiencing homelessness’ can be sensitive and emotionally difficult, yet the students were considerate and creative in how they communicated their messages. Everything from design through to execution of the media produced was done with excellence. We are honoured to have worked with students who have embraced our vision so well!” Deano Pickering, Brand, Design & Fundraising Lead.

Watch this space, later in the year we will be using the media created to raise the profile of the HealthBus Trust!
