On 20 July 2022, the HealthBus Trust welcomed clinical partners from Dorset, Portsmouth, Oxford and Brighton to share its learning with others working to reduce health inequalities in their own areas. Dr Maggie Kirk gave a presentation on the context and development of the charity whilst the Vice-Chair of Trustees Chris Wakefield gave visiting colleagues a comprehensive tour of the mobile clinic (the bus).
“What we do is superb and unique. Over the past 6-years, Maggie and the team have built trust and valuable relationships with vulnerable individuals who can now access healthcare. As a charity, we want to help and support people experiencing homelessness and complex health problems. We are at an exciting stage of developing the Trust further and embracing the challenges of our success!” – Chris Wakefield, Trustee Vice-Chair.
The afternoon concluded with a Q&A session as the HealthBus team shared its experience of essential partnership working, clinical best practices, clinical governance, sustainable fundraising and prominent branding.
“One of our key strategic aims is to share the learning and lessons associated with inclusive care in order to develop more effective ways of serving our patients and their community.”– Dr Maggie Kirk.
