HealthBus on Community Connect December 2025

Phillipa, a local GB ultra-runner and dedicated ambassador for HealthBus, is undertaking an extraordinary endurance feat: running 250km over five days – the equivalent of five back-to-back marathons – from 22 to 26 December 2025. The challenge aims to highlight a stark and deeply troubling reality: women who are sleeping rough in England have an average life expectancy of just 43 years.
Through her fundraising this Christmas, Phillipa is helping HealthBus strengthen its specialist, nurse-led outreach healthcare for women experiencing homelessness, supporting better access to care, dignity, safety and long-term recovery.
During the five-day challenge, Phillipa will be supported by a dedicated safety crew, with progress shared across social media to help amplify the message and encourage wider public engagement.
The radio interview also featured Mika sharing her lived experience of homelessness, offering a powerful and moving insight into the realities faced by women on the streets, and reminding listeners that compassion, care and being heard can be life-changing.
