HealthBus is a vital member of the local Homelessness MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team)
The Homelessness MDT works to provide rough sleepers a person-centred and wrap-around support in consideration of their mental health needs, and physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. The key aim is to deliver a collaborative multi-agency approach and the people involved are the people who can meet the multifarious and often complex needs of homeless clients. The service is inclusive and provides essential care with, understanding and compassion by all members of the MDT Multi-Disciplinary Team working together honestly to develop trust with anyone who attends or has contact with the service.
It is taking steps through early prevention and client engagement to address homelessness in all its forms in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole by ensuring that everyone has a safe place to live that they can call home. The MDT Event on 10 January 2024, was an opportunity to share with all partners the impacts and outcomes it has had on the most vulnerable in our community.
“The support element of our offer is delivered through partnership working and client involvement. We aim to increase the number of partners as we seek to ensure accessible and essential care is provided for those on the streets.” – Sara Turner, St Mungo’s Senior Service Manager Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Housing First & High Support Accommodation Services.
