The HealthBus applied through Morebus’ Community Fund for help to pay for an outreach kit for its new Engagement and Enhancement Nurse, Chrissie Croucher.
“Our HealthBus GP and Nurses have provided over 1,500 appointments so far this year operating three mornings a week. The new nurse will be reaching street homeless people who struggle to access mainstream services. We are delighted to use the funds to buy an essential medical kit for the new nurse,” said Kate Hibbitt HealthBus Trust, Operations Manager.
“The support we receive from local companies like Morebus is greatly appreciated and goes a long way to help provide vital healthcare for people sleeping rough or who are homeless and placed in temporary emergency accommodation.” Dr Maggie Kirk, Medical Director.
Clair Walker from Morebus added: “The HealthBus Trust is a valuable local resource, dedicated to helping some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Our Community Fund is designed to support such worthy causes – and I’m delighted we have been able to help, with a donation of £250 towards a new outreach kit for a member of its team.”
Morebus’ Community Fund is open to applicants all year round, with the bus operator funding and support donated during March and September.
