HealthBus Volunteers Recognised at Buckingham Palace Garden Parties

HealthBus Trust was delighted that two of its dedicated volunteers were invited to attend Royal Garden Parties at Buckingham Palace on 6 and 8 May 2026, in recognition of their remarkable contribution to our work supporting people experiencing homelessness.

Nicky King, a volunteer nurse who gives her time each week to support the HealthBus clinical team, and Phillipa Rolle, our pioneering fundraising ambassador, were both nominated by HealthBus in gratitude for their outstanding commitment, compassion and service.

Nicky had the very special opportunity to speak personally with His Majesty King Charles III. Reflecting on the occasion, she said:

“What a wonderful experience. I am so honoured that I had the chance to speak with His Majesty, who thanked us for our work in the community.”

Phillipa was also welcomed into the Royal Garden Party, where she had the opportunity to meet The Prince and Princess of Wales. She said:

“What an honour to be invited to Buckingham Palace and the Garden Party. This is something I will cherish for a long time.”

Both Nicky and Phillipa represent the very best of HealthBus: kindness, dedication and a deep commitment to helping others. Whether through hands-on healthcare support or inspirational fundraising, their contribution strengthens our ability to bring care, dignity and hope to people facing some of the greatest barriers in our community.

We are incredibly grateful to them both and proud to see their service recognised in such a special way.
