Cherries Community Funds grant to HealthBus

HealthBus Trust would like to share our sincere thanks to the Cherries Community Fund for their generous donation and continued commitment to improving lives across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

On 18 February 2026, HealthBus was granted £2,500 to deliver a six-month Healthy Steps initiative, supporting 100 people experiencing homelessness with essential foot health, mobility, and wound care. Many of the people we meet are living with untreated injuries, infections and chronic ulcers—often caused by prolonged walking, unsuitable footwear, and exposure to harsh weather. Through our mobile clinic and outreach response vehicle, our nursing team will provide foot assessments, wound dressing, practical self-care advice, and distribute suitable footwear and socks.

Members of the HealthBus team were invited to the new training site for a cheque presentation: Jordan, Ian, Phillipa and Chris had the opportunity to connect with first-team player Marcus Tavernier.

Christopher Wakefield, Chairman of HealthBus Trust, said: “We are deeply grateful to the Cherries Community Fund, and to our local Premiership club, for their hospitality and ongoing support. Their generosity strengthens not only HealthBus, but so many charities delivering meaningful impact for people across BCP.”
