HealthBus Patron congratulates and thank AJC Group

On 25 September 2026, colleagues from AJC Group and HealthBus gathered at AJC’s new offices to celebrate an achievement built on determination, teamwork and generosity: an official world record in support of healthcare for people experiencing homelessness.

On 21–22 May, AJC colleagues pulled and pushed HealthBus’s 4.5-tonne mobile clinic continuously for 24 hours around Tarrant Rushton Airfield. They covered 120.8 kilometres and raised more than £10,000 in a fundraising event. Behind those figures were months of preparation and a team willing to keep going through exhaustion, day and night.

His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset and HealthBus Patron, Professor Michael Dooley LVO, formally thanked everyone at AJC for their support over the past year. He recognised the physical achievement and the commitment and passion behind it. He stated,  ” their pioneering spirit, he said, had brought people together through kindness and a cause greater than themselves, while helping HealthBus change and save lives”.

HealthBus Chair Chris Wakefield spoke about what this partnership means on the ground. AJC’s commitment gives the charity confidence that a local business stands alongside its work. As a developer of affordable and social housing, AJC shares an understanding that homes and accessible healthcare go hand in hand. People experiencing homelessness need both a secure place to live and the support to rebuild their health and independence.

Over refreshments, the AJC and HealthBus teams had time to pause, celebrate and talk together. The afternoon was a reminder that the value of this record lies in the relationships behind it and the people those relationships will help.

Professor Dooley closed by looking ahead to 2027, asking what adventurous fundraising challenge AJC might dream up next. We look forward to finding out.

To everyone at AJC Group: thank you for your support, your friendship and the care you have shown for our community. Short video reel can be seen here.
