BU Media Students Create Powerful Homelessness Awareness Campaign
On 13 May 2026, seven Year 2 Media Production students from Bournemouth University presented their creative response to a HealthBus Trust client brief, originally delivered in March by Deano, Sara and Jordan.
As part of their Client & Audience unit, the students were challenged to explore the unconscious biases society can hold around homelessness. The brief invited them to create a media campaign that builds empathy, challenges stereotypes, raises awareness of the realities faced by people experiencing homelessness, and highlights the compassionate work of the voluntary sector, including HealthBus’s frontline healthcare.
Trustee Sara Turner and Volunteer Ambassador Phillipa Rolle attended the presentation and were deeply impressed by the students’ work. Their media clips were thoughtful, moving and impactful, offering a powerful message about how the next generation can help reshape the way homelessness is understood.
Watch this space — their work will be shared soon across our social media channels.
