HealthBus & University of Southampton Launch Trauma-Informed Outreach Training Day (03 June 2026)

HealthBus Trust is delighted to invite homeless services, outreach teams, nurses, community health practitioners and partner organisations to a bespoke Trauma-Informed Outreach Training Day on Wednesday 03 June 2026.

Funded by the Burdett Trust for Nursing, this special training day forms part of the distinctive Care+Her Women’s Research Project, delivered in partnership between HealthBus Trust and the University of Southampton. The project seeks to strengthen understanding, learning and practice around the needs of women experiencing homelessness, trauma, exclusion and complex health inequalities.

The day will also mark the official launch of the HealthBus Relational Framework Model, a new framework developed from HealthBus’ specialist outreach practice. The model reflects the charity’s belief that healthcare is not only about treatment, but also about trust, compassion, safety and relationship-building. For people experiencing homelessness and complex needs, relational care can be the bridge back towards mainstream services, recovery and stability.

The training will be delivered in partnership with the University of Southampton and led by Professor Nick Maguire, whose work in psychologically informed and trauma-responsive approaches is internationally recognised. The day will explore what trauma-informed outreach looks like in practice and how services can strengthen person-centred, psychologically informed approaches when supporting people who often face multiple barriers to care.
