Sam Whittle Wins Diabetes Nursing Award for Innovation

We are thrilled to celebrate Sam Whittle, Specialist Diabetes Nurse from Bournemouth Hospital and HealthBus, who has won the prestigious Diabetes Nursing Award for Innovation at diabetesnursingawards.co.uk.

Sam has been recognised for her pioneering work delivering specialist diabetes care to people experiencing homelessness through a unique partnership between Royal Bournemouth Hospital and HealthBus. Her commitment to reaching marginalised communities and providing proactive, trauma-informed care has not only improved health outcomes, but also built trust with some of the most vulnerable patients in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole.

This award highlights the power of collaboration and compassion in addressing health inequalities. Sam’s approach combines clinical excellence with deep empathy—ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to chronic disease management and recovery.
