HealthBus invited to meet with King & Queen in Bladford

On 16 July 2026, HealthBus was honoured to meet Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla during their official visit to Dorset.

Invited by the Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset, a valued patron of HealthBus, we joined selected organisations in showcasing the inspiring community work taking place across the county. Their Majesties spoke warmly with our representatives about HealthBus’s specialist nurse-led service and our commitment to changing and saving the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

Representing HealthBus were Chairman Chris Wakefield, CEO Deano Pickering, volunteer nurse Nicky King and Joe, a former HealthBus patient. Joe shared his powerful journey away from life on the streets, explaining how HealthBus and other community organisations played an essential role in saving his life and supporting his recovery.

Chris said: “It was an absolute honour to meet Their Majesties, introduce them to our service and enable Joe to share his story. It was incredibly special to have those moments with the King and Queen, who gave their time so willingly to everyone attending.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to all involved, with special appreciation to the Lord-Lieutenant’s Office for giving HealthBus this extraordinary honour and privilege. It is a moment we will always treasure.”
