AJC Group attempts to set a new world record by pulling the HealthBus the furthest distance possible in 24 hours
From 21–22 May 2026, AJC and HealthBus undertook an extraordinary 24-hour world record challenge at Rushton Airfield, north of Blandford in Dorset, aiming to pull the HealthBus mobile clinic the furthest distance possible within 24 hours. A team of 22 people worked continuously, taking turns in groups to pull and push the mobile clinic around the airfield, with each lap measuring approximately 5.3 kilometres.
With Blandford Rotary Club acting as independent adjudicators, the challenge was carefully monitored and recorded throughout. At 2pm on 22 May, after 24 hours of relentless effort, the team completed 23 laps, pulling the HealthBus more than 121 kilometres to raise vital awareness and funds for specialist homeless healthcare across the community.
AJC set a fundraising target of £10,000 and, by 28 May, had reached 92% of this goal. David Cracklen, Director of AJC, said, “The challenge reflected the company’s commitment to investing back into the community and supporting those most in need, aligning strongly with HealthBus’s mission”.
Deano Pickering, CEO of HealthBus, expressed deep appreciation for AJC’s remarkable commitment, dedication and support, describing the challenge as both gruelling and inspiring. He thanked every member of the AJC team for believing in HealthBus’s work and helping raise awareness of the charity’s specialist healthcare provision for people experiencing homelessness.
The team now awaits official confirmation of whether the achievement will be recognised as a new world record. (images by: Andrew P.M Wright)
