Run for HealthBus: coastal challenge brings community together for homeless care

HealthBus Trust is inviting runners and supporters to lace up their trainers for the Bournemouth Coastal TEN on Saturday 5 December 2026, turning a memorable morning by the sea into support for people experiencing homelessness.

Celebrating its role as the event’s Charity of the Year, HealthBus is encouraging individuals, friends, workplaces and running clubs to join the fundraising effort. With a choice of 10 kilometres or 10 miles, the event offers two ways to take on a challenge and make a difference locally.

Starting at Hengistbury Head, the routes follow Bournemouth’s seafront, taking in Boscombe Pier and sweeping coastal views. The largely flat, traffic-free course promises a welcoming atmosphere, whether participants are chasing a personal best or enjoying the experience with friends. The 10-mile race starts at 8.30am, followed by the 10K at 9am, with chip timing and a finisher’s medal included.

Behind the excitement is a powerful purpose. HealthBus brings specialist, nurse-led healthcare directly to people who face significant barriers to accessing services. Through outreach, compassionate care and trusted relationships, the charity helps people receive treatment and connect with wider support.

Funds raised through the event will support HealthBus’s Team43 campaign, helping provide safe, welcoming healthcare for women experiencing homelessness. Support can help fund clinical appointments, keep the mobile service on the road and sustain essential outreach.

Participants who sign up and commit to fundraising for HealthBus will receive a bespoke running T-shirt. Supporters can also look forward to meeting the mobile clinic and staff, encouragement along the course, and refreshments at the finish.

Every fundraiser, sponsor and cheer from the sidelines can help bring the community together around a shared belief: everyone deserves access to compassionate healthcare.
