On 28 January 2026, HealthBus was pleased to welcome Ian Girling, CEO of Dorset Chamber, to meet our team and learn more about how, as a local award-winning charity, we are responding to the rising needs of people experiencing homelessness across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
As a committed Dorset Chamber member, HealthBus receives no statutory funding for its clinical delivery. Our nurse-led service is sustained entirely through community fundraising and grant support. We are encouraged by the growing willingness of local businesses to stand alongside us, through financial contributions, in-kind donations, and practical offers of support that help keep our essential, life-saving work on the road.
During his visit, Ian met our senior leadership team and clinicians and heard first-hand about the level of need across the conurbation, and why addressing homelessness is relevant to the wider economic picture, supporting wellbeing, creating pathways into stability and employment, and helping people feel safe in a thriving seaside town.
Tim Partridge, Business Relations Manager, said it was a valuable opportunity to connect directly with Ian, introduce him to the HealthBus team, and demonstrate how collaboration with local businesses can support recovery in a compassionate, purposeful way. Ian’s visit reflects shared values and a collective commitment to improving outcomes across our community.
