New JAECOO 5 Vehicle Strengthens Specialist Healthcare for People Experiencing Homelessness across (BCP)

HealthBus has welcomed a new JAECOO 5 outreach vehicle, thanks to the generous support of Sandown JAECOO Poole. Launched at an event hosted by Sandown on 20 August, the branded vehicle will help our clinicians bring specialist healthcare directly to people experiencing homelessness across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

For someone living without stable accommodation, getting to a healthcare appointment can be difficult. Our outreach team meets people where they are, builds trust and offers care in familiar community settings. The new vehicle will help us reach people who might otherwise go without the support they need.

The launch brought together colleagues from HealthBus and Sandown Poole, including Craig Clapham, Head of Business at Sandown Poole. Ian Girling, Chief Executive of Dorset Chamber, joined us to celebrate the partnership between two Chamber members.

Christopher Wakefield, Chair of HealthBus Trust, thanked Sandown for standing alongside the charity and helping us continue to bring specialist care and compassion to our community.

Deano Pickering, our Chief Executive, said: “This is not a vehicle for a vehicle’s sake; it is an opportunity for us to change and save lives.” He praised the Sandown team’s determination to make the partnership happen.

We are grateful to Craig and everyone at Sandown JAECOO Poole for their welcome and generous support. Their sponsorship will help our clinicians take vital physical and mental healthcare into the community, alongside the wider support people need on their journey towards better health and stability.
