Phillipa Rolle Takes on Race Across Scotland – 215 Miles

From 08 to 12 August, HealthBus running ambassador Phillipa Rolle took on the Race Across Scotland, a 215-mile coast-to-coast ultramarathon along the Southern Upland Way.

Starting in Portpatrick on Scotland’s west coast, Philippa set out with the aim of crossing mountains, valleys, forests and exposed trails to reach Cockburnspath in the east, all while raising funds and awareness for HealthBus Trust.

For 38 hours, Phillipa battled relentless rain, severe weather and unstable ground. Having covered an incredible 90 miles in punishing conditions, her race came to an end. Although she was unable to complete the full route on this occasion, her achievement should not be underestimated. Reaching 90 miles demanded exceptional physical strength, mental resilience and determination.

Everyone at HealthBus is enormously proud of Phillipa and deeply grateful for her commitment to our work. Every mile helped shine a light on the healthcare inequalities faced by people experiencing homelessness and supported our mission to bring compassionate healthcare directly to those who need it most.
